In Norway alot of cabins have combustion/incinerating toilets. This might be a new experience for some guests. Please read the instuctions below before use.
There is one toilet inside the cabin and one toilet in the annex.
Important information
- Children may need assistance when using the toilet until they are familiar with the process.
- If you are a male and only need to urinate, please consider doing so outside when appropriate. Urine takes longer to burn and increases the burning time.
- Always place a paper liner (bag) in the toilet before use.
- After use, you may place a new paper liner so it`s ready for the next person.
- A burning cycle can take several hours to complete. The toilet can still be used while a burning cycle is in progress.
- The fan may continue running for several hours after use. This is normal.
This is a quick “how to use the incinerating toilets” in the cabin.
1. Open both lids and place a paper liner in the toilet as shown in the picture.

2. Close the seat lid and use the toilet as normal. When finished, push down the black foot pedal on the right-hand side firmly. The paper liner and its content will drop into the combustion chamber.

3. Close the lid and push the red/green start button. The burning cycle will start (or continue if a cycle is already running). The process normally takes 2-4 hours, depending on usage.
